My Story

Hello there! Although this carrd is mainly used to promote my twitch and what i do online, I wanted to write about my story as i not only want to bring awareness about my disease, but Im proud of my story so I want to share it.In 2017 I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which is Blood Cancer. I underwent a 2.5 year treatment, finishing in January of 2020. I went on to relapse in September of 2020, again with ALL. I started treatment but come january of 2021, after a bone marrow biopsy, they found that i relapsed again. After this we made the decision to not pursue chemotherapy as treatment but to turn to a Bone Marrow Transplant. To sum up a BMT, they find you a match with somebody who has donated their Stem cells. Then they completely kill all of your stem cells, and infuse the donor cells. When most people hear transplant, their mind goes to organ transplants and surgery. While BMT are actually a infusion, that doesn't make it any less dangerous. I had my transplant on May 13, 2021 and have been relatively stable ever since. Something that happens to some transplant patients is graft vs host disease, where the donor cells and my body fight. I developed chronic GVHD of my lungs in October of 2021 and have been on treatment for it since. Its further progressed to seize all of my ankle joints, impairing my ability to walk. Its important to me to share my story to bring awareness to childhood cancer and to share such a big part of my life.if you have any questions, please message me! id be happy to answer any.
